It all started with two college buddies, their beat-up cargo van, and their need to make some extra summer cash.

In 2005, Nick Friedman and Omar Soliman turned what was supposed to be a summer job into a full-fledged company. College H.U.N.K.S. Hauling Junk & Moving, has grown from two guys and an old cargo van to a thriving business with more than 115 franchises across the U.S. and Canada. Though they’re based in Tampa, they have locations from California to New Jersey—so there’s likely a location near wherever you’re reading this and you may have even seen one of their trucks on the highway! They handle junk removal and moving services and their company has a reputation for being a purpose-driven, socially conscious, and tech-enabled enterprise.

For them, “Making customers happy is what makes us happy!” That’s why what’s most important to Nick and Omar is upholding themselves and their franchisees to the H.U.N.K.S qualities: Honest, Uniformed, Nice, Knowledgeable, Service.

Fun fact: The hunks are no stranger to reality TV shows. They joke that their trucks have been on more TV shows than the Kardashians!

Committed to community 

College H.U.N.K.S Hauling Junk & Moving is more than just a moving company or a junk removal service. They are committed to the communities they serve. They partner with several local charities and nonprofits and work with organizations like Goodwill, Habitat for Humanity ReStore, and PickUpMyDonation.com to find a second home for unwanted items and junk.

Two years ago, College H.U.N.K.S. partnered with Feeding Children Everywhere. They donated two healthy meals after each completed job with a goal of hitting one million meals donated by 2020. They ended up reaching their goal a year early and don’t plan on stopping any time soon!
